Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: [Placeholder Date]
This Acceptable Use Policy describes activities that are prohibited on Verse. It works together with our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. Breaking these rules may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent termination, and — in serious cases — referral to law enforcement.
Account abuse
- Creating multiple accounts to evade limits, bans, or restrictions.
- Sharing or selling your account credentials.
- Using another person’s account without their explicit permission.
- Registering an account with false, misleading, or stolen information.
Fake accounts and impersonation
- Pretending to be another person, artist, band, label, or organisation.
- Using someone else’s name, likeness, or artwork without permission.
- Creating accounts for bots, personas, or projects that do not represent a real musician or band without disclosing that.
Automated access and scraping
- Using bots, crawlers, scrapers, or other automated means to access Verse without our written permission.
- Extracting large volumes of profiles, messages, or audio files from the platform.
- Circumventing rate limits, pagination, or other technical controls.
Security and integrity
- Attempting to gain unauthorised access to any account, system, or data.
- Probing, scanning, or testing the vulnerability of our systems without written permission.
- Interfering with, disrupting, or overloading the platform (for example, denial-of-service activity).
- Bypassing or attempting to bypass authentication, authorisation, or content restrictions.
Reverse engineering
You may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the source code of Verse or any part of it, except where such restrictions are prohibited by law. You may not create derivative products that clone Verse or compete with it using data taken from the platform.
Malware and harmful content
- Uploading files that contain viruses, worms, trojans, or other malicious code.
- Distributing links to phishing sites or other harmful destinations.
- Uploading content designed to exploit vulnerabilities in browsers, players, or devices.
Spam and unsolicited messaging
- Sending unsolicited promotional messages, mass DMs, or repeated identical messages.
- Publishing profiles or comments intended primarily to advertise unrelated goods or services.
- Using Verse to send content that has nothing to do with music collaboration.
Fraud and misleading conduct
- Claiming false affiliations with labels, publishers, agents, or artists.
- Fake credits, fake features, or misrepresenting other people’s work as your own.
- Using Verse to plan, promote, or execute financial fraud, money laundering, or other criminal activity.
Illegal activity
You may not use Verse for any activity that is illegal in your jurisdiction or in the jurisdictions where Verse operates. This includes distributing content that infringes copyright, exploits minors, or violates export, sanctions, or privacy laws.
Reporting violations
To report a violation of this policy, email us at safety@verse.app. Please include as much detail as possible — links, usernames, dates, and any relevant screenshots — so our team can investigate quickly.
Enforcement
We investigate reports and take action based on the seriousness of the behaviour, the context, and the user’s history on Verse. Actions can include removing content, limiting features, suspending or terminating accounts, and — where appropriate — notifying law enforcement.
